I have a domain of a cylindrical pipe induced with a twisted tape with cut (see Fig. 1 in the ATTACHED).
I used Tecplot 360 to create a rectangular zone as follows: Data>Create zone>Rectangle. I then interpolate the data as follows: Data>Interpolate>Inverse-Distance. A slice is cut at axial location (p) on the domain. What I got was the one that have a shape in Fig. 2 of the ATTACHED but I expected the slice to have a shape shown in Fig. 3 of the ATTACHED. I know that the Fig. 2 is wrong because the cut on the tape does not appear on the slice whereas it should be. In addition, its shape is rectangle whereas it should be circular (since the pipe is cylindrical). I tried to create a circular zone so that I could obtain a circular shape in the Fig. 2 instead of a rectangular shape but could not achieve it. I kindly request someone to please guide me on what I should do so that I will obtain a slice with the correct shape (as that of the Fig. 3). Thank you. |
