I used Tecplot Data Loader to load a data file to Tecplot but discovered that both the Iso-Surfaces & Slices "buttons" under Derived Objects were turned OFF. Therefore, I have not been able to carry out any operation on with the Iso-Surfaces "button" & Slices "button".
Can somebody please let me know what to do to turn ON the Iso-Surfaces "button" & the Slice "button". |

These features can be unavailable for data that Tecplot 360 does not recognize as volumetric 3D or there is no connectivity (i.e. grid) between the data points. Are you able to visualize your data as a 3D volume?
Here is a link to a tutorial that shows one way of creating connectivity for data via an interpolation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxRu9CcnmHI Scott |

I am grateful for your response.
I have applied the information in the link "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxRu9CcnmHI" you sent to me. The Iso-Surfaces & Slices "buttons" turned ON by the reason of the Rectangular zone created but I did not get the correct contour plot. Instead of generating a contour at a position (e.g. @ x=0.76m), a rectangular plane is generated and the contour colour are the the same irrespective of its position. Also, when the Rectangular zone is deactivated in the Zone Style, the Iso-Surfaces & Slices "buttons" turned OFF. I will be expecting your response. Thanks a lot. |

It looks like we have established that your original data set does not have connectivity (and it appears that you did not interpolate this original data onto the newly formed rectangular zone as the contour color does not vary).
The issues you are asking are relatively basic, and difficult for me to resolve in this forum. Perhaps viewing these “Getting Started” videos at this link http://www.tecplot.com/support/tutorials/tecplot-360-getting-started/ would be helpful to your application. Sincerely, Scott |

I am sure I interpolated the data set into the newly formed rectangular zone. I think the problem is with the connectivity of the data.
I need your assitance on these two issues: (1) Are you referrring to the original data set in Tecplot OR Fluent? (2) Could you please adequately enlighten me on how to make the original data set have connectivity. I am happily awaiting your positive response. Thank you. |

Hello everyone,
I want to plot iso-surfaces of the axial vorticity (wx) along with the spanwise vorticity(wz) in tecplot. How can I plot it? Please let me know... Thank you |
