Hello everyone,
I am trying to simulate a tumbling cylinder re-entering the atmosphere. I wanted to see if there is a way in SU2 to get the rotation of the cylinder based on the aerodynamic forces acting on it. I have played around using moving grid and set some rotation around each axis and this works fine. However it is not realistic as the rotation of the cylinder is dependent on the aerodynamics forces. Translational motion can be ignored for the moment, I am only curious on the rotational movement. At the end I will want to calculate the overall Drag on the body. As a second question I wanted to just make sure that NEMO solver is still not compatible with moving grids. I have tried it in another case in the past and the simulation wouldn't start. So I just wanted to make sure that this is the reason and I am not missing something else. Thanks a lot for the help! |
