Hi everyone,
I’m currently calculating the heat flux over the surface of a blunted nose at Mach 1.38. However, I’ve noticed that the maximum heat flux is not occurring at the nose tip (stagnation point), as shown in the attached figure. Does anyone have any suggestions or insights on why this might be happening? Thanks! Kuan |

Hi everyone,
Regarding the heat flux issue, I initially performed an axisymmetric validation for a blunted cone-flare at Mach 6, and the results matched the experimental data quite well. However, when I applied the same method to other 3D problems, as mentioned in my previous post, I observed that the maximum heat flux was no longer located at the tip of the blunted nose. I also encountered a similar issue here: https://github.com/su2code/SU2/issues/1063. Based on the suggestions from that thread, I tried iterating with a higher entropy fix value and adjusting the Venkat limiter coefficient, but unfortunately, it didn’t resolve the problem. Here is the initial version of the input file for this case: Code:
