Hi all,
I am performing a shape optimization using FFD box for a NACA0012 airfoil. With the current configuration file, I am able to create the FFD box I need using DV_KIND = FFD_SETTING and I am also able to see the deformed airfoil if I use SU2_DEF module with DV_KIND = FFD_CONTROL_POINT_2D. However, I also want to see the FFD box along with the airfoil which I am not able to (I opened the mesh_out.su2 that is generated after FFD box is created). Is there any way to visualize the FFD box that is generated in SU2?

SU2_DEF generates some old-fashioned paraview vtk files for you, called ffd_box_0.vtk and ffd_box_def_0.vtk, which are the undeformed/original and deformed ffd boxes.

Thanks. Does that show FFD box along with the geometry?

It is only the FFD box, so in paraview you load the paraview solution file (vtm,vtu or vtk) and then the FFD box file. You can visualize the FFD box together with the geometry by choosing 'wireframe' for the FFD box.

This is exactly what I wanted. Just to confirm, did you get this by loading both the ffd_boxes_0.vtk and the solution file in Paraview?

I have loaded four VTK files into ParaView, which include the meshes before and after deformation, as well as the FFD boxes before and after deformation (ffd_boxes_0.vtk, ffd_boxes_def_0.vtk). I hope this can help you.
