There have been some questions on this forum in the past about the configuration needed to generate vortex shedding. We (a group of students) ran some experiments in SU2 for the case of laminar flow over a cylinder. I am posting the .cfg file and the link to some results we got in different configurations. Hopefully this can be useful to someone. Disclaimer is that we are also new to the tool and the field and learning our way through.

There are quite some measurements on the Strouhal frequency vs Reynolds in the literature, you could compare the results with them and see how far off you are .It turns out that the numerical results are quite sensitive to the mesh size and you have to resolve the shedding region very well.
Also note that you can only simulate the Strouhal frequency correctly in 2D up to Re=200 because of the occurrence of additional longitudinal frequencies after Re=200.

Thank you for the feedback and for pointing out the limitations of simulating the Strouhal frequency correctly in 2D beyond Re=200.
