could you please inform me about a method (if any exists) to run a LES with SU2?

Hi,

Unfortunately there are currently no tutorials for LES. All configuration options are described in the file config_template.cfg and a quick search shows that these are probably the most important ones:

Code:

SOLVER= FEM_LES
KIND_SGS_MODEL= VREMAN

I am not so familiar with setting up an LES, I hope somebody else can add any missing info or hints.

i don't claim to be an expert in LES (and especially not LES in SU2, I am wading through some DDES and hybrid RANS/LES stuff myself), but I'm linking below a SU2 conference slideshow with some commentary and results on general WMLES and DDES, but importantly for trying to learn how to run the cases, some settings and mesh guidelines also (particularly on slides 6 and 11).

While it discusses WMLES (and thus utilizes wall functions), I assume more deliberate mesh refinement and removal of the wall function setting would get closer to WRLES if that is what is required.
