Hey,

I'm meeting problem in the Unsteady NACA0012 case. I have download the case's .cfg, the restart file and the mesh from github, but when the calculation stops, the CD and CL in history.csv don't display oscillation as the tutorial shown. I find someone asked before, and generous guys give the advice which goes well.(Are the tutorial cases of NACA0012 up-to-date?) I checked my .cfg as metioned, but nothing happened.

Please tell me how can I get the oscillation as the tutorial shown. I will be very grateful.

Regards,
Zhang

Hi,

I just checked the unsteady naca0012 and for me it works, I see oscillations in CL and CD without making any changes to the tutorial (the modified settings mentioned in the other thread are already implemented).
What version of SU2 are you using? Please always use the most up to date version. Maybe check out the latest version and try again.

Thank you for your reply. My version is 7.5.0, which I thought is a relatively mature version. I will check it again.

Thank you again for your patience.

How many CPUs are you using to run the case? This can cause some differences in convergence.
If the inner iterations do not converge enough the unsteadiness may be dissipated.

I ran it on hpc with 40 CPUs, I don't know if this is the reason for my trouble.
