Dear Community,

Description
i am trying to couple a rotor-stator turbomachine simulation (mixing plane approach) with a structural analysis.

It would be enough for me to do the fluid simulation and do a structural analysis afterwards, by using the values on the blades (fluid load). However i do not know how to extract those values and provide them as input for the structural analysis.

So far i have tried to follow the example given for "fsi" to set the structural and fluid interface. https://github.com/su2code/Tutorials...ics/steady_fsi
I know this couples the flow with mesh deformation, which i don't particular need but is the only tutorial i found so far.

Excellent would be to have two cases:
  1. Coupled turbomachinery simulation with mesh deformation
  2. A turbomachinery simulation with a post processed structural analysis, to check for any illegal stresses on the blades
Problem
I have set up one main file and three sub files (rotor_fluid, stator_fluid, rotor_blade). The main file includes the coupling of the zones.

However, when starting the simulation, I observe that the solver tries to set a mixing plane for the solid as well, even though there is no mixing plane interface defined.

Software Specification
I am using SU2 7.5.1. on a wsl ubuntu system 20.04

I have attached the log and the config files I am using. I can provide the mesh files if needed.

best regards,
