Hello,

I am trying to solve one of the ADODG cases in SU2 wherein the CRM wing is optimized with respect to a set of shape design variables and rotation angle of the tail.

While the FFD box setup for a conventional wing-only case is well explained in the tutorials section, I am not sure how to prevent the surface tessellation at the fuselage from getting distorted when I perturb a DV at the root (image attached).

Mathematically, the adjacent cells on the fuselage are not considered as boundary conditions in the pseudo elasticity mesh update formulation. Is there a flag in the CFG file that will allow me to distort the fuselage with the wing at the root ?

In the manuscript "Large-scale aircraft design using SU2" by Palacios et al., the authors seem to encapsulate the tail and wing within FFD boxes but it is unclear if the root sections were held fixed in this study.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
