How to change the angle of attack by rotating the airfoil?

Hi,
I am running an unsteady C-grid simulation for an airfoil with a uniform farfield (INC_NAVIER_STOKES solver). Is there any option in SU2 to rotate the airfoil to a certain angle? Something similar to a moving grid where there is an inner zone of the grid that moves and the rest doesn't move? I would like to use the same mesh for an airfoil and run it for several angles of attack. Changing the angle of attack won't be useful because I have a C grid with clustering in the wake and changing the angle of attack requires changing the whole grid to high resolution in the new wake so I want to rotate the airfoil to a certain angle and keep the C topology. Thanks! Last edited by Sigi; January 24, 2023 at 19:41. |

No, you'll have to do this in your meshing tool

You can scale, rotate, or translate su2 meshes using SU2_DEF.
For a 45-degree rotation around the z-axis the settings look something like this: DV_KIND= ROTATE_GRID DV_PARAM= (0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1) % x0 y0 z0 x1 y1 z1 DV_VALUE= 45 |
