Hi everyone,
I'm using SU2 to run a case with a grid with two zones, one structured and other unstructured, between that two zones there is an interface. I'm studying command to insert in .cfg file. I understand that if the grid have an interface with two different mesh I have to use the KIND_INTERPOLATION, otherwise I don't use it if the mesh at interface is the same for both zones. Is it right? The major doubt is about MULTIZONE_SOLVER, When is it used? By test cases and tutorial, I understand that the command does not necessarily have to be activated when activating MULTIZONE and it don't substitute SOLVER. Which is its function? Thank to all that help me. |

I noticed that the documentation for these options is not up to date.
KIND_INTERPOLATION has 4 options, NEAREST_NEIGHBOR, ISOPARAMETRIC, WEIGHTED_AVERAGE and RADIAL_BASIS_FUNCTION. MULTIZONE_SOLVER has 2 options, BLOCK_JACOBI and BLOCK_GAUSS_SEIDEL. There are several testcases in the TestCases folder that you can have a look at, just search for the keywords and run the cases to see what they do. My experience is limited so I cannot tell you which options are preferred for which setups. You can take existing setups and see for yourself what happens when you change the options. Would be nice to get some feedback and update the documentation. |
