I am trying to run an unsteady simulation with 2nd order dual time stepping in SU2 v6.2. When using the Euler implicit scheme for TIME_DISCRE_FLOW, the solution produces non-physical results but continues to run. When I try running with the Runge Kutta explicit scheme (or the Euler explicit scheme) the solution will run for approximately 1100 external iterations before exiting with a BAD TERMINATION error with exit code 11, which seems to point to a segmentation fault. Is there a way to fix this? Why would the implicit scheme continue to run but the explicit scheme crashes? Before it exits, the restart files produced by the explicit scheme seem to be plausible.
