I have working with a velocity inlet profile fro a 3D case and have run into what seems to be an error in the profile feature of or SU2 or possibly the cgns mesh reader.
My inlet profile is an annulus with a structured hex mesh in cgns format output by ANSYS. I generate the inlet profile .dat file using a python script. when I attempt to use the file in SU2 I get errors regarding the node matching tolerance even though I know my profile nodes and mesh nodes match extremely well (checked in paraview). As my next trouble shooting step I forced SU2 to generate the inlet profile template by not including the profile .dat file. I plotted the generated points and the mesh in Paraview and the results were quite astounding (see below). At this point I suspect one of the following: a.) The inlet profile function in SU2 has an error that does not correctly match profile points to mesh nodes. b.) SU2 is not reading the .cgns mesh file correctly and thus cannot match the points. I have attached an image of a portion of the the inlet surface mesh with the inlet profile template points generated by SU2 (profile points are red). |
