Good Morning,
I am working on building some SCO2 models at conditions that will not be suitable for a the Peng-Robinson EOS (closer to the critical point). Also the conditions will not be well suited for constant transport properties or Sutherland's rule for viscosity. I have come across numerous mentions in papers, presentations, and git posts of SU2 working on implementing a plugin for FluidProp to model real gas thermo and transport properties near the critical point. I am curious on development status of this feature. Will it be beta soon etc...? I was also wondering if it would be possible to define 3D polynomial equations f(T,P) for rho, mu, gamma, etc...? I know su2 supports 2D polynomials for properties under certain conditions. Links to FluidProp plugin mentions are bellow. Hello,
I am stuck at a similar point. I was looking into SU2 for a non-ideal thermodynamics solver based on the article "SU2: the Open-Source Software for Non-ideal Compressible Flows", however, I'm a bit stuck for heat transfer at supercritical conditions now. The often-mentioned tables are a commercial product you can buy from www.asimptote.com , but they are only integrated for SU2 v.4 (which is four years old) and you need to specify fluids and thermodynamic regions. Using the built-in model of non-ideal compressible fluids restricts you to constant thermal conductivity, viscosity, and ratio of specific heats, which really limits the applicability when what you are interested in are non-ideal fluids with non-ideal properties. Clearly I am doing something wrong! Daniel Last edited by bernulli; June 2, 2020 at 16:01. Reason: toned it down, I am glad people develop SU2 |
