Hi.
I am a CFD newbie and this is my first post. I hope someone can give me some enlightment. I have a question regarding the SU2 divergence criteria, since in some cases I just think that it is still reasonable (this is indeed from my own perspective. I am sorry if it is wrong) to have that value yet SU2 just decide to end the process. So what is this divergence criteria that makes su2 stop running? I would like to also know if there is any way to modify this divergence criteria. Best regards, Hilmi |

Hi Hilmi,
We are glad you are using SU2 and thank you for reaching out! To answer your question, SU2 only exits due to convergence when either NaN's or Infs are passed into a check residual function (I believe). Unfortunately I have reached residuals in the 100s before. This indeed can be annoying when you cant watch your residuals develop. In your case, I think the best way to handle this would be to alter the GetConvergence() function. You can set a flag causing SU2 to stop if Res[Omega] > Some number. Please let me know if this works! Let me know. Best, Wally |
