Hi.

I am a CFD newbie and this is my first post. I hope someone can give me some enlightment.

I have a question regarding the SU2 divergence criteria, since in some cases I just think that it is still reasonable (this is indeed from my own perspective. I am sorry if it is wrong) to have that value yet SU2 just decide to end the process. So what is this divergence criteria that makes su2 stop running? I would like to also know if there is any way to modify this divergence criteria.

Best regards,
Hilmi

Hi Hilmi,

We are glad you are using SU2 and thank you for reaching out!

To answer your question, SU2 only exits due to convergence when either NaN's or Infs are passed into a check residual function (I believe). Unfortunately I have reached residuals in the 100s before. This indeed can be annoying when you cant watch your residuals develop.

In your case, I think the best way to handle this would be to alter the GetConvergence() function. You can set a flag causing SU2 to stop if Res[Omega] > Some number.

Please let me know if this works! Let me know.

Best,
Wally
