Hi all,

I am currently post-processing the flow around a transonic turbine stator blade. I am trying to calculate the contributions of the different losses, such as the boundary layer loss, trailing edge loss and the shock loss.

For example, for the boundary layer loss I need the boundary layer properties just before the trailing edge. I have been trying hard the past days, but could not manage. The main problem that arises is that the blade profile is highly cambered and therefore extracting data along a straight line becomes a cumbersome task since this line must be perpendicular to the blade surface. This would require me to do some geometric calculations which introduces some possible errors. Since I have to do this for a matrix of designs, I am looking for a better and less error prone method. Please find attached the geometry. Any help is much appreciated!

Hello,

I think the only way out here is to calculate the normals at different locations on the surface of your blade and extract the data from Paraview or Tecplot in batch mode. It could be somewhat error prone as mentioned, but I am not sure if there are any alternatives to automate it within SU2.

Cheers,
Akshay
