Hello, I'm writing to report an issue I found running steady RANS computations on an aircraft configuration with engine inflow boundary active:
In FALCON versions, some computations with engine inflow BC suddenly blow-up after many iterations, when force coefficients are about to be stabilized. I did not find, for the same case, any problem running version 5.0.0 (RAVEN). Moreover, if I replace this boundary condition at the engine inlet with another one (far-field for example) the computation runs with no problem. I noticed that, in the file "solver_direct_mean.cpp", routine CEulerSolver::BC_Engine_Inflow, there's a section commented out: /*--- Viscous contribution, commented out because serious convergence problems ---*/ that is not commented in version 5.0.0. Probably you are already aware of this issue. Kind Regards, Mauro Last edited by mauro_minervino; October 22, 2018 at 10:35. |
