I have been trying to export my aircraft design into su2 for some time. I eventually succeeded by exporting an stl of the aircraft and the farfield from openvsp, separating the two in blender, then adding them back together in gmsh to add markers. For my configuration file, I have edited the input file on the Euler/oneram6 config file from the test cases. When I run it, I receive the following error:
------------------ Config File Boundary Information -------------------- Euler wall boundary marker(s): WING. Far-field boundary marker(s): FARFIELD. Symmetry plane boundary marker(s): 0. ---------------------- Read Grid File Information ----------------------- Three dimensional problem. 180403 points. 2 surface markers. 260992 boundary elements in index 0 (Marker = WING). 99840 boundary elements in index 1 (Marker = FARFIELD). ------------------------- Geometry Preprocessing ------------------------ Setting point connectivity. Renumbering points (Reverse Cuthill McKee Ordering). Segmentation fault (core dumped) Any ideas why this is happening? All help is appreciated. -Sam |

Hi Sam,
its hard to give you a solution for your problem ... Since your were converting between a lot of formats I would assume that something went wrong on the way. Because if SU2 crashes during the geometry preprocessing, than most likely the mesh file is corrupted. Tim

Thanks for your response, Do you have any suggestions on how to simplify the process?
I tried taking blender out of the process, but I can't seem to go straight from OpenVSP to gmsh because I need to separate the farfield and aircraft mesh. I also tried a strategy based on another thread in which the farfield is created in gmsh, but that didnt work as it only creates an outline of the farfield, not mesh. |

Dear Sam,
i have experienced the same error in a 2D case (cylinder in euler flux). i have solved the problem enabling the option "save all" when exporting my mesh from gmsh to .su2 format. |
