Dear All,

I trying out NACA0012 transonic airfoil optimisation problem. Default design variables are Hicks-Henne. I would like to use PARSEC parameterisation.

To get the gradient using the adjoint solver, SU2_DOT or SU2_DEF will have to provided the information regarding these custom design variables. I understand that a design variable change is translated into airfoil surface change which is then passed on to SU2_DEF which creates mesh perturbation in the volume grid. This mesh perturbation is the volume grid is used by SU2_DOT along with the direct and adjoint solutions to obtained the gradient with respect to that design variable.

In the SU2_DOT.cpp, I see that there is provision for custom design variables. However, I have not found any documentation or example that uses custom design variables.

Could someone please direct me to any available example/documentation ?

If not, I will have to understand how Hicks-Henne design parameters are implemented and then follow the procedure.
