Dear fellows of SU2 group,
I am currently testing the Spatial Discretization of the SU2 solver. And I found that the SU2 had been used in the First AIAA Sonic Boom Prediction Workshop to simulate the flow of the axisymmetric body and 69-Degree Delta wing body. The simulation in your presentation gave a good result. And when I tried to repeat your simulation with the workshop provided mesh and the newer version of SU2( version 4.0.1), there are some problems. And I really need your help. First, in your presentation, you mentioned that you used the workshop provided grids -delt-split-mixed-000a-170m-__s.cgns(5.36Mpts, 2.74Mpts, 1.41Mpts, 0.69Mpts), and -seeb-inches-000a-160m-__s-mixed.cgns(10.15Mpts, 5.25Mpts, 1.16Mpts, 0.67Mpts). I found both the grid files. But when I tried to used the second grid to do simulations, there are some errors. The screen says, Loading CGNS data into SU2 data structures. Three dimensional problem. Error in requested element data range. Error in requested element data range. Error in requested element data range. Error in requested element data range. And the full configuration file is attached below. It seemed that the mixed type of the grid caused this problems. I don't know what to do next. Please help me. Second, for the seeb-alr models of the workshop, it provided different grid officially. And I also tried the tetrahedral grid(named seeb-inches-000a-160m-200s-tet.cgns) with SU2 to do the simulation, with the same configuration you posted in your presentation(Convergence criteria: reduction of 5 order of magnitude in density residual; Implicit(CFL 5.0, GMRES), MG 3V, JST scheme) but the result is bad. I wonder whether you did this simulation and what is your result. If it is the same, would you be kindly to tell me what the problems are. I attached the configuration file of both simulations. I am looking forward to your reply. Thanks. |

Hi
Even I am facing the same error "Error in requested element data range". Were you able to resolve the problem? Any suggestions? One thing which I observed is the code is running in serial mode but gives this error in parallel mode. |

Hi,
I think it is working for me but, I'm facing a different issue if I increase the number of partitions (>4). Just to be sure that we are in the same page. What cgns version are you using (I'm using cgns-3.2.1)? Could you please send us an screenshot of the error. Thanks, Francisco |
