Hi,

In the latest build of SU2 (v3.2.8) SU2_DEF gives the file surface_grid.dat as the visualization of the deformation. This file is however not readable with Paraview (4.1.0). In earlier releases, the file Surface_Grid.stl was always perfectly readable.

Is this a permanent change to the surface_grid file?

thank you for your question.
short term, reverting to version 3.2.5 will let you write the paraview files.
Long term, I will add this to the github tracker.

Correction: I'm not actually sure that version 3.2.5 is the right one. Can you please post which version you were using when it did work?

Hi hlk,

thank you for your reply. I was using SU2v3.2.3 when it was still working.

I found that I can download previous versions of SU2 at https://github.com/su2code/SU2/releases. Are the previous versions of the test cases also saved somewhere on github?

Look for the commit on github that says "release 3.2.3" and check out that release.
The tagged releases of the code and any specific commit of a repository can be checked out by
git checkout <string of letters/numbers associated with that commit>
from a directory where another version of that repository has been checked out.

Thanks, I got it!

On the GitHub website I browsed in the commits to find the right release and then clicked on "Browse the repository at this point in the history".
