I am new in su2 and linux system. I first installed su2 3.2.3, and then I tried some cases in Testcases and met some problems with python scripts. And then in the forum I was noticed that maybe I needed a new verson of su2. But after I installed su2-3.2.7, I came across errors with the old Testcases but the new Testcases-master can run successfully. So I am wondering if the program only matches with the Testcases in the same version.
I didn`t change the configure files but I met divergence when solving naca0012 euler case. Could you help me about these two problems? Many thanks. |

Generally you should using testcases and su2 with matching version numbers. The first thing to try is "make clean" prior to the normal installation of the newer su2 version, in order to make sure that the older version is uninstalled. What were the problems you encountered with the python scripts? |

When I used the command "shape_optimization -f inv_oneram6_adv.cfg -n 8",the following errors occured just as in the link. I am not familiar with the source code. So I am wondering where the problem is. Hope for your reply~~~ |

It looks like you may be using a python script from an older version in combination with the newest SU2 version (there was a change to whether mesh partition files with "_n.su2" were generated). If you set your PYTHONPATH when you were installing SU2 make sure that it is pointing to the directory with the updated scripts and that you run "make clean" prior to "make install" for the new version to make sure that the old version is cleaned out. If you are using a copy of the python script in your run directory, make sure to update it to the newer version.

Check if this process works on a single processor. If you still get the error in the picture, check the location of the binaries (it is saying that it cannot find SU2_PRT, at the path specified in the error). |

Are you a member of the ADL who developed the code SU2? I would like to do further study with SU2. And when I used the newest version with the same version of testcases, I found that without parallel the computation can continue ,however, coming out with a wrong result when I use tecplot to see the data file.Have you used the newest version to compute the testcases successfully? I wonder if it is the problem of my own or the source code. Besides, I found there was no SU2_PRT model in the version 3.2.7 source code package, but I could get the error of" cannot find the SU2_PRT".I am confused now. Sorry to bother you again~ Many thanks~ |

Pic 1 is the result of pressure coefficient of naca0012 euler that I got.It seemed that something went wrong. Since version3.2.7 lacked of SU2_PRT, I copy the module from version3.2.3 to it, and the error of SU2_PRT cannot find was gone. However, I still met such errors as in pic 2. |
