Dear All,
I have been trying to run the config file provided for simulating Caradonna and Tsung blade in the rotating frame of reference. I am using SU2 version 2.7. However, I'm unable to run this case. It blows up after around 30 iterations giving non-physical points and gauss elimination error. The residuals diverge right from the beginning and the CL, CD values are constant at -1000. 1. I'm aware about similar posts earlier. However, they were related to SU2 version 3.0. Has anyone been able to run this case using SU2 2.7 successfully? 2. Also would like to know whether SU2 2.7 would support NS simulation in rotating frame of reference? If yes what is the freestream Mach and Reynolds number to be provided (since this is a hover case freestream M = 0 and so is Re but SU2 won't accept these values). In an earlier post I read that periodic boundary conditions are not fully supported. Could someone please elaborate on this. Thanks for your help, Regards, Deepanshu. |

Hello,
I have obtained the same problem using version 3.0 of SU2. Using hyperMesh, I have created a mesh without symetricals boundaries (I have modeled two blades) and It works very well! Hope it helps, Martin |

Hello Deepanshu,
Unfortunately, the periodic boundary conditions in SU2 are a little out of date with the rest of the code and right now they don't function properly. Martin's solution of simulating the full geometry is the best solution to the problem if you're looking to get results immediately. We are actively correcting the issues with the periodic boundary conditions and we hope to have the problem resolved & support periodic boundary conditions again within a week or two. Stay tuned for updates! -Sean |

Dear Sean and Martin,
Thank you for your suggestions. I'll try simulating the complete pair of blades and will let you know if there are any issues. Regards, Deepanshu. |

Hello Martin,
Could you share your config file? Even after modeling 2 blades I'm not getting a converged solution. Thanks, Deepanshu. |

Hi,
Please see the reply here about the new updated C & T case for SU2 V3.2... I think this should clear up some things: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/su2...ade-model.html T |
