Dear all,
I'm beginning to use SU2 and I saw that in the future versions there will be a transition model. Anyway, I'm wondering to know if it is possible to set as Boundary Markers a flag like MARKER_NS_LAM and MARKER_NS_TURB. In this way, running RANS simulations it would be possible to fix the transition point. Best regards |

We are currently performing the V&V of the transition model. If you are interested in helping us with this validation/development we can give you some references and show you where the main transition code is. We are looking forward for open-source community contributions.
Best Regards, Francisco |

I' m interested in the verification and development of transition prediction models. Now I'm in the final step of my PhD so I'm quite busy, anyway
if you link me the references I will begin to read them and assess how I can help you. Best regards, Donato |

Hi Francisco,
Its good to know that the transition model is progressing, what test cases are you validating? Are you considering the ERCOFTAC T3A flat plate test case too (simple but quite a good validation test case) Reference: Roach, P.E. & Briley, D.H. (1990). “The influence of a turbulent free stream on zero pressure gradient transitional boundary layer development. Part 1: testcases T3A and T3B”. Cambridge University Press.. Quote:
