Hello SU2 users,
I'm trying to set up a 3D FFD box for the design of nuzzle intake. After having a few FFD set-up I noticed that if I place the FFD inside the nuzzle the FFD mapping procedure doesn't work well. This causes the optimization process to end after 1 iteration because SU2_DOT cannot get the gradient and they all equal zero. When I set the FFD outside the nuzzle, the optimization process work well but the FFD box was far from the surfaces of my model. I am interested in knowing if the FFD can be set inside the nuzzle. I couldn't find an example for nuzzle intake optimization and I'm not sure why it's happening. Thanks for the help! I'm working with SU2 v7.1.1 |

Maybe take a look at one of the design tutorials of the website: This one https://su2code.github.io/tutorials/Species_Transport/ is kind of a nozzle outlet, so all the relevant FFD features should be applicable similarly. Just dont mind the Species Transport aspects and this maybe could be of help for you.
