Hi all,

I have been trying to perform optimization on a 3D geometry. I followed the ONERAM tutorial and set almost every setting the same with it. I defined my FFD box and visualized it to make sure it is as I wanted. However, in my case the sensitivities are always calculated as 0, and right before the end iteration of adjoint calculations SU2 stops without giving any error.

What could be the reason for this? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

I have same problems in the 2D case. I tried to run optimization of NACA0012 using FFD parameterization. Optimization ended after 1st iteration, giving 0 gradient of obj. function. (SU2 v7.3.0. - windows precompiled).

When I look to the "surface_adjoint.csv" I found that x,y components of the surface sens. are zeros, while magnitude of sens. is nozero. I'm wondering why it is like that.

The same result of sensitivities I obtained in tutorial cases (2D and 3D), but those cases run until minimum is found...
I would like to use SU2 for shape optimization using my tools, but since x,y,z components of sensitivities are 0 I can't move on.
Is there anyone who could help me solve this issue?

Cheers,
Jan
