Hello everyone,

I am planning to use SU2 adjoint optimizer for the case in which flow problem is 3D.
However, geometrical shape that I want to optimize is axisymmetric part (nothing but body of revolution). Therefore I need to alter the design points just on a single line and other internal points must deform accordingly so that axisymmetrical part stays axisymmetric.

How can I define such a FFD box?

Thanks

Cylindrical coordinates FFD.
I know we have the option but I never used it. Look around the testcases folder you might find an example.

Thanks for your reply. However, I could not find anything related.
any help will be appreciated.

It can be done, see attached, but you need to move two points together because the FFD cannot be 0 degree around the circumference (this would probably not work directly with the shape_optimization script).

I have tried with your files, I attached below mesh obtained at design # 14.
Any idea?
