Hello, everyone! I have optimized a hypersonic inlet to obtain the maximal mass flow rate. The picture Mach.PNG below shows the inlet configuration. And the COMP_OPT is the surface needed to be optimized and the EXIT is the surface where the mass flow rate is evaluated.
But, after the optimation iteration, the mass flow rate of the final configuration become smaller than the original!!! I guess the reason is the inverse directions of the EXIT normal vector and the flow have which result in a negative value of mass flow rate. How should i do to make the optimization to evolve to the right dirtection???
Meanwhile, in the configuration file, i have set OPT_OBJECTIVE= MASS_FLOW_RATE * 0.01. But, in the optimization log(log_optimization.PNG), i have found the OBJFUN seem to have no scaled relation with the inlet mass flow rate. Is there something wrong in my configuration file? The last is my configuration file? Thanks in advance!!!

I have seen the thread in http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/su2...objective.html. Now i set OPT_OBJECTIVE= MASS_FLOW_RATE * -0.01, the optimization evolves to the right direction.
