Hi all. I anticipate that I am a very very newbie in cfd.
Comparing two airfoils, I see a lot of total pressure losses in the plot related to blade in which appears a strong normal shock, and much less losses in another showing just a weak oblique shock. This is expected. What seems strange is that the output file "forces_breakdown" returns an higher CD for the blade showing less losses. Since I cannot explain to myself these apparently contraddicting results, I thought that the CD could be not taking into account the shock losses. Is this possible? This would mean that the CD calculation only considers the friction losses. Thank you in advance and sorry for the probably stupid question Giacomo |
