I have designed a realistic human hand, With the material model of the bones defined i need to apply forces on different angles to find the maximum force that the bone can bear without failure. Can u guide me towards any work done in this field, the model is made in creo parametric 3.
For the Fingers, i have used a simple pin joint The pin joint is defined in ansys as a revolute joint with the stop and locks range of 55 and -55 degree Force applied perpendicular to the fingers of 1 MPa I want to find when the material will become to yield. |

Dear Raheel,
One of the options is to use Distortion Energy theory. If the Von Mises stress induced exceeds the yield strength of the material, it can be considered as failed/start of the yielding. Regards, Rajan |

I am experiencing problems with what seems to be a simple assembly and finger are just simple pin joints with rotation in one axis of revolution i just want to apply a force and see if the bone at the knuckle joint will bear the force or not
