Hi,
I am modeling equivalent stress in a bream bracket (picture 1). First, I ran a simulation with solid finite elements, and I get the results shown in picture 2. Then, I model it using shell elements (picture 3), and I get the results shown in picture 4, which is somehow similar to my solid elements mesh. But if i further refine the mesh (picture 5), it look like I get a stress concentration! Can someone explain me what happened? Also, since my bracket has fillets (and the shell elements don't take the into account), is the solid elements mesh more reliable? Thank you a lot. |
