Hi all,

As I am still learning all the dynamics of structures, I am slightly confused between fluttering of a bridge for example and vortex-induced vibration (VIV).

Are they exactly the same? However VIV is used for civil/building structures?

Any brief definition and an example on each maybe, would be superbly appreciated!

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,
Mousa
