Hello folks,
I try to induce virbrations into a solid structure with help of a frequency dependant force. The frequency of the force is equal to the eigenfrequency of the solidstructure. I am using ANSYS Transient Structural. My problem is that I can't use variables for TIME or PI. I added a "Force" and set the "Magnitude" to "Function". I am generally using CFX, where I can easily add functions and variables like the above mentioned. I uploaded a picture for a better understanding. I could use a tabular input instead of a function and generate x and y values for the force. But I still think it is the more time consuming solution. Do you guys know how I create variables in transient structural? Thanks in advance, Thomas |

You need to convert the frequency domain(natural frequency) to time domain first. There after, you should design your load such that the sine wave peak is coincident with at the same time(as converted previously from frequency). Let us know for help if this is not sufficient for you.
