Hello,
I'm running STAR CD version 3.26 and I'm attempting some-post processing. I want to analyse the shear stress distribution along a wall boundary. I thought this would be a fairly trivial task, however I cannot find any data for wall shear stress amongst the tool in Pro-STAR. Only shear forces. Is there some way to calculate the shear stress distribution using the wall boundary cell face area? I've attempted reading the manual, in the complete post-processing user guide there is not one mention of "shear stress" or "friction coefficient" (or any other variant!) Has anyone had any success in accessing this information themselves? Thank you in anticipation. |

hi
The shear force is in Newton, the shear Stress in Newton/m2. So why not dividing the shear force of each cell by the area of each cell? getw, SFXYZ oper getc area 5 oper divi 4 5 6 oper smul 1 6 4 regards xamo |

In theory this method should work, however I am getting some very strange results from it... I think possibly my shear force is not correct.
