Hi S M Khan.
Gridgen should've exported STAR-CD's bnd, cel, vrt, and inp files and those may be directly imported into STAR-CD. If the problem is with the files themselves, their contents, or the lack of one of the types listed above, please contact our Technical Support team at support@pointwise.com or 800-4PTWISE. Best Regards

Dear Jchawner!
i am unable to solve out the problem. i exported the mesh as style STL, format ASCII, FILE EXTENSION as .grd but it is unable to read in the STAR CD. what else should bo done? what steps should be followed while exporting the mesh from Gridgen and imported it to STAR CD so that it can be readable by STAR CD. Thank You |

S M Khan:
As I mentioned in my reply to your similar question about STAR-CCM+, you first select STAR-CD as your solver (Analysis Software menu), then use the Export Analysis Data command (also in the Analysis Software menu) to write STAR-CD's native files. Do not export an STL unless all you want is a surface mesh. Also, do not use the GRD file extension for STL files; use STL. Finally, if you are still unsuccessful, please contact our Technical Support at support@pointwise.com and they will gladly help you with the step by step procedures.
