In star version 4.08 there is a new feature of "generic scalars" Does anyone know if they can be used to model "no-mass" scalars, e.g. turbulent energy or dissipation. In scalar initialization volume/mass fraction is required, this implies that the scalars are assumed to be part of the fluid! If this is the generic scalars may used only to simulate mixing, not transport of arbitrary property having unbounded values.
