Hello,

Can anyone help me on simulating gasoline spray? Does anyone know any mathematical models that define a gasoline spray? The atomisation models and collision models.

regards,

Sekkizhar

Sekkizhar,

Are you looking for models specifically in STAR-CD or do you just want to learn about gasoline spray models in general? The LISA (Linearized Instability Sheet Atomization) model is widely used for predicting primary atomization for hollow cone sprays. Are you interested in pressure-swirl atomizers or multi-hole gasoline injectors?

i am looking specifically for models in star-cd. i do have experimental results for a multi hole injector. i am right now trying all given models and comparing them with the experimental results. But it is rather time consuming.

Hello,

I am not familiar with the specific models/constants in STAR-CD. Sorry I cannot be of more help.

Hi,

indeed I have no experience with STAR-CD, but I'm actually doing spray simulations with OpenFOAM for my thesis! My proceeding is very similar to yours: trying all the available models and compare the results with experimental data! But I'm still in the very beginning of my work!

So, maybe I could help you with some literature (for instance for the models) or we could exchange our experience???

Maybe we find some more people here who can help us...

We can share some experience for sure. What models are you validating your results for? Are you doing analysis for gasoline? mail me at sekkizhar@gmail.com
