What do you mean by orientation along star board side?
Do you mean to rotate the body, or change moment of inertia?

i don't get your question. could you please expand what you need to do?

if you mean you want to change the orientation of your cad model, it can be done during the import phase or it can be rotated afterwards, or again it can be assigned a new reference system.

if you mean changing the bc, it is enought to change the vector of your inlet velocity.

best regards

but as I change the vector the wave gets generated at the center of the domain. I want it to flow from on side!!!!!

I don't have starccm available at the moment, but if i recall correctly, when defining the wave there should be something like point on water. Try change the first two values to get the "phase" right

it is surprising to read such a question - a two minute read of the star-ccm+ help on waves will give you this answer. and if you had wondered for a second or two about what each setting was while doing the boat tutorial you would also already know the answer.
once you have go your wave in the correct mode, be careful about the wake mesh resolution - it is easy to change the wave direction and starting location, but you might also need to adjust your volume controls for mesh refinement.
