Hi Guys,
I'm relatively new in using Star CCM, and I have a pretty complex task to do. I've used tutorials and gained a pretty decent understanding of how to get most basic thing working (I hope). My main task is to create a free surface flowing pond, with inlet and outlet, so I can track the residence time distribution of injected particles. Instead of starting out with a irregular pond shape. I've decided to use a simple rectangular "pond" with a simple inlet and outlet. Now I believe my set-up is correct, and I'm using a implicit unsteady, multi-phase flow, with gravity, and modelling air and water. Now I would like the "pond" to initially be filled halfway with water, so the inflow can generate a steady current. In the initial conditions, I set the volume fraction as a composite, and used a field function to define the water as I had seen in a previous tutorial. I am using the field function: Code:
($$Position[1]<=-0.5)?1:0 Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks Amish |

Initialize the solution and then you should see your initial condition setting at the boundaries.

Hey thank you so much for that. I did indeed forget to initialise, however I also forgot to select the fluid as a part to show.
Once doing both. It showed up nicely, and I'm glad the field function worked out well. Thank you. |
