Hello CCM+ users,

I'm currently working with my IT team to set up Star-CCM+ on our network.
The remote solver server is Windows Server 2008 HCP and my client machine's OS is Windows 7 professional.

I'm having difficulty accessing the remote machine with the default rsh command - Winrm is enabled on my machine, but read a little about SUA, and apparently it's not for W7 professional (is that right?)

Are there anyone using similar client-server setup successfully with rsh? Or are you using alternative connection method? Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks.

I had some difficulties to run simulations in parallel and / or connect to a server during my studies. I know it was due to user rights, it worked fine when logged in as system administrator. Maybe you can test this, when it works it's just a matter of user rights.

Regardeless of the operating system, you need to be able to connect to a server without the need for a password. Otherwise it will not work.

the normal way to use the computers you have is the queue the job to the hpc machine from w7 using the -ccs option in the star-ccmp client open dialog. then once the job is running you will see it in the client's server window and you simply 'connect' to it. for this to work your firewalls needs to be open to the processes and you need the same username/password on each machine. you can also use job manager in windows hpc to queue the job, the connect from w7
