Hi,

How can we orient or flip face normals? I have some boundaries which have reverse normals so I have to flip them. Any ideas?

Regards

I'm so surprised that 26 people read but have nothing to say about this topic.
I would like to flip the normals for the flexibility of both prism layer and extrude methods. However CCM users who experienced Gridgen and/or TGrid will understand me easily.

Regards

Funny, I was one of the 26, but I didn't had any solution for your "problem". This might be due to a special reason:
You might be right, users who experienced Gridgen and/or TGrid will understand you easily. But I never felt the need to flip face normals during all my time with Star-CCM+. Therefore I just don't know what you want to do and what you expect as result!

When you are using a software, you should not try to copy the procedure from other software packages. Otherwise you will feel like a pilot driving a car who desperatly searches the rudder pedals - but there are no rudder pedals in a car, because a car is completely different to an airplane and you don't need them...
I hope you got the point.

if you are using star-cd (Pro-star) then there is a command called corient all
in ccm+ there is no such a command, best thing is to export the boundary as .dbs or .stl and reimport it. this will re orient the boundary.

Let me know if this helps.
