Hi all!
Ran into a major problem today. I had finished running my simulation in StarCCM+ and everything was dandy so I saved it and exited the progam. After a couple of hours, I tried to re-open my .sim file and heres the error i get. "A floating point exception has occurred: foating point exception [invalid operation]. The specific cause cannot be identified. Please refer to the toubleshooting section of the User's Guide." the odd thing is, I had always thought floating point exception occurs if something was getting divided by a zero. But the simulation is finished. so that shouldnt happen. Anyone have any idea on how to fix this? Thanks in Advance, T |

Hi trex,
such an error cannot only occur while obtaining a solution, but also if you use an fieldFunction and divide by zero within this function. Do you use any fieldFunctions which could create such a behavior? Does the same error occur if you open the backup (.sim~) file? |
