Creating control volumes

Does anybody know how to create a control volume?
I have the body in igs format but I need to create a brick that should act like control volume for the problem. I know how to create the brick but I do not know how to include the igs geometry and join the objects. Thanks! |

I know how to create the control volume letting inside the body but the problem is when simmetry is present and I need to join the body with the brick just to create a single control volume.
Are there any kind of operation that let me substract the body (an aerodinamic boy) from a brick? |

OK, so you want one or more sides of the control volume to be co-incding with your symmetry boundaries? If this is what you are asking, there are several way to do this. You can impose the sides of your control volume on the boundaries of interest and use itersect using feature edge, and then split by the newly created intersect edges. Alternatively, use surface repair tool, selet merge/intersec, select your source and destination boundaries (generally the box side being the destination, but sometime you need to work it other way round), enter a suitable tolerance value and use merge button.
