Custom streamlines - only 2 velocity components

Hi
I'm working with rotating low in a tube. I would like to visualise the axial and radial components of the flow in the tube with streamlines (ie no tangential component). I have tried doing this with constrained streamlines, but it doesn't give the right results. Is there any way to construct these streamlines. Maybe it would be necessary to write a user code for this? I have attached an image of the type of streamlines I'm looking for. Thanks |

I can say that figure which u given is plotted using the Tecplot. you also can try the same. |

Thanks for the replies guys
I have found the reason for the problem. The plots I attached were done from a 2D axisymmetrical simulation, thus the center of the vortex was by default in the center of the tube. My simulation is a 3D simulation, and the center of the vortex is not in the center of the tube, and it is also not straight. Thus ant plane I cut through the flow, doesn't go through the center of the vortex, and I'm not able to eliminate the tangential velocity component. I'm still investigating ways of generating the plot I'm looking from - I think I might try to write a used code to generate a trace of the normal streamline as it intersects a plane in the middle of the tube, and then connecting the trace points. |

Do you mean do the simulation in 2D, or convert the results to 2D?
