I am using star ccm+ to simulate a conjugate heat transfer problem. Now i want carryout FEA analysis in ANSYS of the same by mapping HTC's from the CFD analysis. when I am trying to export HTC,s from the star ccm+, it is exporting total domain and it is not able to export only the surface which want to export. is there anyway to export the HTC's on the surface from star ccm+ to ansys. I dont have abaqus (which have direct interface between starccm+).

Do you have access to STAR CD? The process you are trying out is a routine activity for me. We export the hf values from STAR CCM+. Go to File > Export and then select the *.cel format to export to (the default is *.ccm). Then you have to take these cel, vrt and daten files to STAR CD and map in using STAR CD. If you need help in mapping it in STAR CD, let me know. I can give you the set of commands that you can use to get the mapping done.
We have to follow this as they still do not have a way of mapping or exporting it in ANSYS readable format in STAR CCM+ as yet. |
