Does anyone know how to generate overlapping grid in STAR-CCM+?

There are now support for overlapping (overset) grids in Star-CCM+ right now. It was only promised for some future release.

mesh overlapping is attractive, but the cpu time may become much higher.

It is called "overset grid" more often

STAR-CCM+ (and STAR-CD) do allow overlapping grids at present for doing heat exchangers and heat transfer cases like automative radiators - maybe this is what you mean.
Otherwise offset (Chimera) grids is a promised feature (one of the last great features to be transfered from the related code Comet). |
