b1acksuns3t is on a distinguished road
hello everyone.
i am a student from St.Petersburg, Russia, and now i am writing final qualifying work. for that i need to simulate situation, we have acoustic pool 4*4 meters, which filled by the water on 3,5 meters. we have a special acoustic bell, witch one acts as a source of tonal noise under the water surface. under the water surface we also have hydrophone and sound level meter over it, rhey will help us to track sound pressure levels in whater and in air. theoretically, when the sound wave overcomes the boundary of two continuums and gets out of the water into the air, most of acoustic energy (about 99.94%) will be reflected back into the volume of water, and only a little part will get through it. this ratio of transmitted energy to reflected energy corresponds to a decrease in SPL by about 65 decibels.
howewer, in the STAR CCM + i configured the physics with the following way:
using the Eulerian multiphase and whith creating flat wave, i managed to simulate the filling of the required proportion of the pool with water, wrote a special users function for acoustic pressure, which one radiates the surface of the acoustic bell. also i created point resievers as hodrophone and microphone, and created a scalar scene like a vertical incision, that shows the spreading of sound pressure.
after setting up all the parameters of the model, i see that acoustic wave doesnt react to he boundary of two continuums and acting itself like its spreading in one solid continuum. i tried to fix this problem in many ways, and didnt find some similar cases.
now i have a question: is it generally possible to modulate realistic this situation using CCM + opportunities or not? if it possible, please give me a hint how i can do this. if its necessary, I can send the model to you by e-mail.

Sorry for my english if its too bad, and thanks in advance for the answers
