Hi everyone,

Im working on simulating a pulsatile flow for my simulation of an aorta, i set the inlet parameters using a table for inlet mass flow rate changing over time using data obtained from other research papers. The issue im running into is as the experiment is occurring, the first 30-40 iterations show a pulsatile flow occuring but afterwards the system reaches a steady flow state with no fluctuations in the velocity. There should be time frames with no flow occurring as a blood pulse is cyclical in nature but instead im getting results mimicking a constant inlet mass flow rate.

Does anyone know how to go about modeling the pulsatile flow so its changing over time? Is it an issue with my inlet conditions? If so what should i change it to?

Any help is appreciated, thank you for help in advance.

Did not notice... The problem is complex.
Use second order time sampling.
When generating waves, this must be observed, or the wave will slowly decay to a plane wave.
Perhaps you have a different reason.
