Hi all.
I'm struggling taking a very-well-working 2D problem into 3 dimensions. With identical settings (and even with changes) I can't stop the boundary layer misbehaving at the trailing edge. Here's an image of the 2D mesh, which looks exactly as intended: Unfortunately, when building a mesh of the identical geometry in 3D, the trialing edge loses 4 layers and becomes thinner: I tried the obvious settings in the prism layer controls but they do not have the intended effect of thickening the prism layers to what they were in the 2D case. In fact, the 3D mesh has fewer cells on the trailing edge top-to-bottom even though the settings are identical, but if I increase the number of cells on the radius it still does not help. Am I overlooking something obvious? Any help very much appreciated! Kai. |

I guess you could extrude the 2D mesh to create your 3D one. I believe starccm+ has the option for that but I may be wrong.
